I read a lot of the other reveiws and tried to avoid making mistakes. I let the machine rest for a day in it's new position before turing it on for the first time. I ran about 2 days worth of ice through it to get out the "plastic" taste, before getting usable good tasting ice.It's now a favored appliance! Each batch seems small and non consequencial, but in about an hour's time, there's enough ice to stuff a lagre quart size ice tea glass full of ice. The mahine will refill and go to sleep before your ice tea is ready for a refill. We've started a bag of ice in the freezer, incase two of us needing ice at the same time. The ice is a bit "wet" and freezes togeteher, but a sharp rap of the ziplock bag on the counter solves that when about to fill your glass.Be careful whe re-inserting the ice tray, as if it's off just a little bit, it will trigger the Ice Full sensor, and put the machine to sleep. The tray needs to be "front justified".I like that I can make ice out of whatever brand of bottled water I'm using for the day. So if Drinking brand A, it's not diluted with ice from tap water or some filtered source not quite of the same taste.We're finding that it's not entirely a waste to let the last batch of ice for the day melt back into the water tank. It keeps the water colder and leads to larger ice pellets, than if the machine starts with room temp water. Same for filling the machine: Keep the fill water in the fridge, before feeding the machine.. ### ⭐ Not the one I ordered! *by A***N on January 23, 2025* The ice maker in the picture was not the same when it was delivered. I order this one because it was the same one I had before it stopped working-I liked it. False advertisement. The one that came is cheap.
