The listed short circuit protection and overtemp protection etc is not really accurate. The connectors themselves are straight passthrough from whatever is connected to the terminals. My car socket was only working intermittently so removed it, cut off the connector on the end of the wire and connected these 2 new sockets using a terminal block.Easy to do and nice sturdy replacements.
