We used them for dog tie-downs and man, so so so much easier in our hard So Cal sunbaked hardpan than pounding bent metal pegs in and tugging them back out. Yes, you have to bring a drill or impact driver (our choice) but it includes the bit you need and they went in, held strong with our boisterous 45lb dogs and backed out easily. I'm guessing most of the high rated camping pegs are not being used on soil like ours!! My only negative about this is that I wish they sold smaller packs.
