An astonishing journey of a dog from civilized to primeval period. It shepherded me right into the nature which is unbridled, savage and frightening. This anthropomorphic novella delineates Darwinian evolutionary theory of the survival of the fittest. It is not the strongest or the most intelligent who will survive but those who can best manage change. Magnification of Philosophy of naturalism is portray in most simple and lucid way surrounded by a gripping plot.

John Griffith's own life and personal experience reflect so well in this book which keeps readers on the edge completely from the beginning till the end. The unnatural movement of the wild towards domestication is something quite a thing for an author to build a plot on and write so well and effectively. It's not often that while reading the book you get so emotionally attached to the characters and to do that with animals is a rather difficult exercise. Jack London has succeeded very well in this effort. This book is impeccable in story telling and arousing emotions to the hilt.

People who care for him People who hate him and the odd one or two who don't care.This was the most awesome book i have ever read!I felt so sad when i finished it...So i read it again!
