The straps fit over the shoulder easily, and I think a velcro closure flap is better than a zipper top (more waterproof, hoping).Added bonus of getting a clear carrying pouch is that I can see what's inside and can have the yellow pad cover showing towards the outside so I will be more visible at night as I'm walking out in the parking lot after class.I can't tell how durable this carrying pouch will be. I taped the bottom edge so it can withstand scuffing when placed on the ground.
