They would have all kinds of different sports from all over the world of course this was before ESPN took off. One of the programs they had was the World Championship of Triathlon's the IRONMAN in Hawaii. It is 1982 imagine you have a college student looking for thesis project to help her graduate, she's approaches her advisor with the idea that she wants to research what takes to get ready for a triathlon and she will do this by training and participating in this race in Hawaii. This from person who being part of the team was happy with riding the bench. So she trains and enters the race and fines herself in the lead with 50 feet to go and being the unlikely winner her body gives out in more ways than one. She ends crawling to the finish line and thus the name of the book and what would be a major cause to the explosive interest in thriathlon's.I encourage you to get on youtube and look up Julie Moss and watch the finish it is really something. Afterwords read this book. This book written by Julie Moss covers this particular race and the impact it had on triathlons and the community. It does give you alot of history on triathlons how they came about and how it has grown. It covers alot the authors personal struggles like trying to make things work with a spouse who has a different vision of religion but this is not done to the depth that someone that is not religious would be turned off. This lady is defintely a free spirit and the face of determination. Even if you have no interest in this type of sport or really any sport it is a good read and you may realize is good on the motivational side. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ The story behind the story (or Crawl) *by M***H on Reviewed in the United States on March 30, 2021* As another early triathlete in the early days and living in Hawaii the book gives great context for the way the new sport and the life was approached.
