There are no markers or numbers in the text when a site is discussed and there are numerous paragraphs with interesting historical background that unfortunately make it difficult to find the spot you are on in the tour (and look up on the map). Some tours apply to a map from an earlier tour, although the book does not actually state that. Walk 20 starts with site 4 on the map - I still don't know where, when, or if sites 1-3 on the map contained in walk 20 are mentioned in any of the tours. We have resorted to using the Insight Guidebook for Bangkok just because it is easier to use and follow along, even though the content here is richer. Bottom line: very interesting content for a long-term resident/visitor or history buff, but very difficult to follow along and use for self-guided tours. Lots of potential, but horrible editing, poor organization, and confusing mapping. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ No other book on Bangkok like it, fantastic *by E***E on Reviewed in the United States on December 29, 2016* This books is fantastic if you love history. It covers a lot of historical sites that aren't significant enough (or deemed worthy enough) by the bigger Bangkok tourist guides. Great suggested walking routes to see old historical sites in Bangkok that most guides overlook. It is a fairly sizable book with a lot of pages, decent maps of the routes, and good information on what you're seeing on the walking trail. There is no other book out there that I know of that is like this book. So if you like Bangkok history and frequent the city or live in Bangkok it's well worth the very inexpensive price of this book. ### ⭐ Poor maps, unclear where to go *by L***E on Reviewed in the United States on November 16, 2021* This book is unbelievably hard to use. There is no overall map showing where the walks are located and no maps with lines drawn on the streets that make the nicest walks. The text gives history but nothing specific about the walk! They don’t say where to start and end.
