My mother recently bought a new monitor and hers not only doesn't have a phone app so she has to hand log her readings and it is larger and bulky for her to use. This one is so simple, just place it on your upper arm and press start. I would definitely recommend the Omron Series 5 for anyone who wants an accurate reading of their blood pressure whether or not you have health issues. **Q: does this model include an ac adapter**
A: No, it only includes batteries..... it has the option for an ac adaptor but didn't come with it

**Q: Is the cuff 100% soft? Some of these Omron machines come with a hard piece of plastic in the cuff, making it difficult to use.**
A: Not sure how it can be 100% soft because there has to be an attachment point for the tube/line that connects the cuff to the device.  The cuff has great flexibility to be able to get small for small arms (I am a petite woman). I have no difficulty using the cuff and device unassisted.

**Q: Just why do they need your location??**
A: Not really sure as I do not use the wireless/blue tooth functions and send any of my data for health data collection. But I would assume location has something to do with health data collection.

**Q: Can this also be connected by wire? I an just see the Bluetooth being a problem at the exact time you need it most.**
A: No, but you do not need to connect to the app in order to check your blood pressure. The Bluetooth connection is only used for automatic storage of your readings in the app. Even if you do not or are unable to use the Bluetooth functionally, you still have one of their best, most accurate blood pressure meters.

I have monitored my blood pressure for years using an older Omron model. I purchased the wrist model as it would be easy to travel with but wondered about it's accuracy. So I bought this one for home use. It is easy to use, and both models are within just a couple of points if I use them both. It paired easily with my smart phone syncs quickly after taking your blood pressure. The app provides the option of adding notes which are useful for your physician. This was recommended by my doctor to track my daily BP. I installed the app on my phone and can make comments on the reading. All was easy to set up.
