If the prosthetic is at your your knee and/or below, before you use it in the shower, I would make sure you are comfortable with the level of traction you have. With casts, the general idea is that you are not putting pressure on the broken foot/leg, so you have already compensated by either sitting in a shower chair or using rails. I see no reason for hair to cause the seal to loosen, the elastic blue top will enclose and cling tightly to the skin. It has a tightly fitting seal, (not so tight it hurts, but a very secure seal).
