**Q: What is it made of?**
A: It is ceramic with a special glaze. I have used other products before and I must say that I find this one to be by far the best and well worth the money. Having been to Paris many times, this baker truly will make a crust worthy of an original baguette parisienne. Just be sure to generously sprinkle the bottom pan with bread flour the first few uses to properly season the pan to be non-stick. After about 5 uses you can get away with just a dusting. So handle with care because yes, it can break when dropped.

**Q: Is any one experiencing over browning with this dark colored pan?  The red is more expensive but probably does a better job of even browning.**

A: How did you break it??? Contact the manufacturer, it is probably your best choice. Google it or maybe on ebay, you never know, someone may have broken the base and is selling the top.

This works great! The key to prevent sticking, is to warm the bottom in the pre-heated oven. Then when it’s hot, you pull it out, put your bread dough in the hot base, spritz the bread and top lid with water, then put the lid on and with oven mitts, put it back in the oven. The bread won’t stick if you pre-heat the base. Check out videos on you tube by Sue Becker!

I purchased 2 bakers and both came in broken!! There was a box inside a box with no bubble wrap or cushioning for the item. This is a ceramic baker so it is fragile. This was gift so of course I was unable to give it. For the first one ordered, the bottom came in multiple pieces and the bottom of the second one was split down the middle. Save your time and money and purchase something else!

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Homemade baguettes are possible!

I did it! I’ve never made bread before but received a bread machine and this special baguette pan for Christmas. I used the French bread recipe that was included in my machine and removed the dough when the paddle remove signal turned on. I was worried about sticking from reviews, so I buttered and floured each slot generously before placing my rolled out dough into the pan. Once in, I covered and let the dough rest 30 minutes before placing into my 450 degree oven. Before baking, I brushed each baguette with water and tried to score the dough (which was my biggest issue and something I need to improve). Removed the lid for the last 5 minutes to achieve a nicely brown top. While my baguettes are not the best yet, they were pretty darn great for my first attempt. Crunchy on the outside, chewy and soft on the inside.As for the pan itself. I had wanted the red but it wouldn’t have arrived in time, so my family ordered the charcoal. Turns out I love love the charcoal. It looks like a piece of art and exudes a high quality kitchen piece that I hope will last for years. I love it so much that I just purchased the matching smaller bread loaf in the same color.
