The iPhone itself has the latest software updates so there are no excuses. I did some research on YouTube and google and discovered other folks making disparaging comments in frustration. Do not waste your time with this garbage. I have no idea why Apple went to this kind of lightening connecting junk. The older way of plugging in earbuds was just fine. Another stupid over invention in my opinion. ### ⭐⭐⭐ BE AWARE - These are wired Bluetooth earbuds *by H***R on September 19, 2019* These didn't work for me when plugged in and I was gong to return them. No paperwork came with the earbuds. I went online to do the return and read the product description more carefully. They are Bluetooth headphones that just plug in for power. They work fine - lowest volume setting before mute is a little too loud, but sound quality is pretty good.
