I've attached a pic of the first stain and am letting that cure before adding a darker stain. There were some imperfections in the joints where the wood slats connected but these were fixed with some sand paper and wood putty. I stained ours and put about 8 coats of polyurethane on each side. It now resides on our back porch as an accent table and I get compliments consistently. I use it constantly for my drinks and other items. Its been rained on and comes clean every time.
