If your garden is nice soft, compact soil; definitely get this. I'ts fast and you can drop in those bulbs in bulk. On the other hand; if you have clay soil like mine, it can't cut it. In other words, this isn't built for drilling. I got the bulbs in by getting this as far as it could go (1/2 to 1") then loosened up the soil with a pointed object then drill and loosen as required. When I hit a spot that had been dug up and amended in the past couple of years it was hallelujah!I sharpened the edge of the auger, but that wasn't the problem. The problem is the point of the tube - it has no cutting capability. It needs to be designed like a step drill bit with very aggressive edges. the auger could use serrated edges also. I may try to add some features....That's for my front yard. I've tilled up the back garden and it should be easy going! Looking forward to that and I will keep the tool as it will be used mostly for the back garden.The gloves I tossed - they looked like they would be great for halloween.Update: Retuned it. I got to the back garden kand found that the power of the auger will throw soil 4 ft or more. It was a mess. The drill had speed control but it just tosses the soil. Digging through thin layers of soil it was uncontrollable. Hit a layer of dense soil you add pressure, when you pass that layer it just drops into the soil before you can control it. Went back to the trusty trowle and it was a piece of cake. I still gave it two stars for those who have perfect soil. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Must have if you are gonna plant *by T***O on Reviewed in the United States on October 8, 2019* I have a lot of trees and shrubs, so when I want to plant it usually takes me a while to find a spot I can get deep enough for roots to take hold. I used to have to swing a pick or hoe and dig a little with the shovel before committing to the spot and digging.With the auger, I push down, when it hits a root it can't get through, it will spin or deflect and take out dirt next to it, exposing the root allowing me to use my sawzall to get through the root resulting in much less effort and more consistent spacing of my newly planted greenery. If I need a bigger hole, I just move the drill in a circular motion expanding the hole as needed.I have a cordless Ryobi 18v and the auger fits no problem. The drill is strong enough to get through hard packed dirt with pebbles and roots up to 1/4 inch thick. ### ⭐ You get what you paid for *by J***F on Reviewed in the United States on October 1, 2019* Received the auger drill bit last night and used it this morning trying to plant my spring bulbs and the tip of the auger that connects to my drill broke off after about the tenth hole. Very disappointed as it was working really good. Not the best quality.
