HitchSafe SL-3 Trailer Security Lock for 2 5/16 Designed for Inverted JAYCO Wide Flange Coupler and 2-5/16" Bulldog Coupler MFG in Dallas, TXF

This lock arrived today, which is five days early (Good company to work with). I would ignore the few low ratings this lock has received. All trailers have a different design to their hitch, so it is impossible to make one lock to fit them all. My trailer has a very wide flange. This lock is wide enough to go over the wide flange. I am going to customize it to fit my trailer better and make it stronger, but the design works just like it came. I just like locks to be tighter, and a few metal supports wended to the inside corners will accomplish what I would like to see on my trailer. Cons: The lock is a piece of tin junk. Throw it away before you are tempted to use it. If it were my company, I would take the padlock out of the box before I mailed it. This is a great lock for those who have wide flanged hitches, and this company delivers great service.

This lock looked like a decent trailer lock. And it could possibly work on some trailers... but for my application which was a very standard 2 5/16 ball hitch on my enclosed race car hauler did not work at all. I was able to latch the ball in the hitch, close the top of the lock over it, put the lock through the eyelets and lock it. And it looked pretty secure.... but all u would have to do is unlatch the hitch and the whole ball lock would just fall to the ground.... so i don't see it working on any trailers I've ever seen with a 2 5/16th hitch. Because most big trailers with hitchs with that size ball are just like mine. If I where u I'd just order a more expensive one that will actually serve a purpose and do its job. This one looks good and it might deter some criminals from trying to steal it but all it would take is a curious thief to take a closer look and see that it is completely useless....

The vast majority of trailer locks appear to be secure in looks only and I understand that trailer locks won't stop a determined thief. This, however, is a substantial lock that will take more than a casual effort to remove. My only beef is that the padlock itself is not made in the USA, but I suspect that no one in the US manufactures this style of lock.

So far the trailer is still there! Very easy to assemble and install on the hitch. I like the bright color to hopefully discourage people from messing with it. The construction is solid and very sturdy. Seems to be better designed than most others that I have seen online and in stores. The only thing I can't seem to figure out is that the lock is from a non-brand company and not sure how to reorder any extra keys.

Seems to fit well and is the only style of hitch lock I could find to fit my style of hitch. I have one of the hitches pictured for this item (the 3rd picture) and it does fit and seems to fit securely. I know nothing is 100% theft-proof, but it will be a good deterrent to the convenience thief. Nice and shiny too and I like that it came with the key-lock itself too.

I own 2 of these trailer locks and they are great! Really gives me piece of mind leaving my trailer at the storage lot. Any other trailer lock can be broken with one good hit. These things are built very well! Unfortunately if someone wants the trailer bad enough they are gonna get it regardless, but having one of these locks will probably make them move on to the next one. I'm very happy with this lock!!

Great Lock! Great Customer Service. Having this on my camper gives me peace of mind. If a low life thief wants to steal it after getting this off then well they are still a low life thief...but this will make it a lot harder for them...and they would have to have some pretty heavy duty tools to break or cut this off. I would/will recommend this to my family & friends.

As expected.........these will only keep the honest/honest; a perp will steal most anything at anytime. Glad I bought it; it will make it harder for them and my trailer is more secure. It's a cheap insurance policy :-)
