I’d say that if you typically fit a bit snug in your size or are between sizes definitely order larger to be safe. These are very comfortable and cool so you don’t have to worry about getting extra sweaty due to the material, but the tags are very irritating so I had to cut them down which is my only complaint. I am 5'4" and weigh 135 pounds. I am 40" at the fullest part of my butt and I have a 32" waist. I bought size Large and they fit perfectly. The waistband comes to my navel, hemline comes to just below mid-thigh. They are very comfortable and they don't slide down when I exercise. The material is soft and stretchy. They have a gusset. The only downside is that there is a cloth tag sewn onto the inside of the waistband in back. If it itches, I'm going to have to remove it.
