I bought this size because it can fit over my 65L bag when I have my sleeping bag and inflatable pump mattress on the outside. Also, if you have a smaller bag, you can adjust the straps. However I did not use the straps because I found it a bit uncomfortable on my back and it did not need it. It worked well, but I experienced unexpectedly extremely rainy and windy conditions which the rain cover stopped at first, but over time my bag got completely wet from the back. However I think this is the same for every cover that my friends who were hiking with me had.
