After advising of the issue the seller offered a free replacement case that was sent promptly. When the replacement exhibited more or less the same issue (maybe it had something to do with the shape of my laptop, who knows?), we further discussed options with the seller and agreed that I could try to modify the case by removing the bulging strip (last photo). That seems to work for now though I offered the seller few other suggestions that may be included in the design. Once again, this seller’s responsiveness and service quality should set a great example on how to similar issues must be handled and it’s reflected in my rating of this purchase.—————————-8/29/20Just received it. Nice look and soft leather-like feel. Should be good for traveling though I don't travel much and ordered it to protect against occasional scratches. Didn't use long enough to rate durability. As described in other reviews, it was a bit challenging to insert the screen into corner holders but I managed. The frustrating part was that the cover didn't fully close. A close look showed that the strip above the track pad popped up and pressed against the screen as shown in the photos. I really like the case and trying to straighten the strip so that it wouldn't press on the screen an rub against it. If not successful, then regretfully I'll have to return it to prevent a $1,300 laptop from being ruined by a $30 case. ### ⭐ 4.5 stars. Will not show anything but lines where the pen (in the holder!) went in between the lid and the computer. Computer doesn’t have a scratch on it but is now a 6 week old $1400 paperweight. Stop using the pen holder ASAP!!!I really like the case, but I would have liked more color choices. Maybe a darker 'real' leather look? Fits really well... tight to get on, but won't slip off! But as someone else mentioned, it did have gnats! wow. Weird! ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Tough, durable and classic styling for my MacBook Air 13" 2017 *by G***Y on Reviewed in the United States on June 26, 2020* We had been using a two-piece plastic clip-on cover which provided protection from surface wear and tear but I would never give any assurance to a drop or any wet protection.So finding this laptop case was a nice surprise and the leather assured me to the longevity and durability the case would provide with time.My husband commented on it as well, telling me how much he liked it and felt it was much more protective than the plastic cover we had been using.The laptop hasn't had any over-heating issues or forcing the fan to run more with this new cover in place.I gave 4/5 starts only that I can't say this case will be superior in protecting from drops/falls to that of a higher quality case designed for that specific protection. I do feel this case will protect from bumps and definitely daily wear and tear, scratch prevention. The corners appear to have adequate protection from such minor bumps and bangs.
