During my two week get away, I had no problem with this portable device until about 10 days in. After about two hours of use, a red light flashes on and a "whir" sound kicks in within the plastic encasement. Not sure if it was because of a voltage spike, but I quickly turned it off, waited a few seconds and put it on again. The sound had stopped. Unfortunately, this would repeat itself about three more times throughout that day. On other occasions it might happen once in a day until I returned from my trip. Maybe the adapter saved my electronics from frying. Who knows?
