I wanted a hard shell, but some cushion, so I took out the insoles of my shoes, put in this 3/4 orthotic and then placed an air pillow insole on top of that. My shoes are the Brooks Adrenalin which has a wedged rubber sole that compensates for over-pronation. I love this model and wear them in several colors in fabric and in leather which is more supportive. Since I've only worn these FitFoot 3/4 insoles for a couple of hours, I've given them a rating of 4, however, if they feel as comfortable after a week, I'll change the rating to 5.
