Thiyashi answered all my questions in detail and gave me many valuable tips on staying in ketosis. As this product states this tests for ketones in the breath which show how much fat you are really burning. The manual and guide is simple but detailed. The results can vary from reading to reading but are fairly accurate. Make sure to blow a normal breath right till the end, do not blow large breaths like blowing up a balloon. This is a great device to slip in your pocket and keep handy especially when eating out to make sure I don't slip out of ketosis. I first tried the breath meter out and blew as normal per the directions. I blew 0.00. So I measured my blood ketones and it registered 1.8. Hmmm. Okay. I'll try it again. I did the breath meter again and it registered at mild ketosis at 0.02. At least it registered. I tried it again later that night and it registered again at 0.00. I took my blood again and I was at 2.0. Then this morning I tried the breath meter and it registered 0.00 three times. I knew I was still in ketosis because I didn't eat anything the night before that would have kicked me out. I took my blood and my blood was at 2.4!!! So clearly this thing does not work. I wish I would have gotten a different one even if it was twice the money.
