I sifted through each page of product, waiting for the moment that tells me I've found the perfect one. That moment came when I spied this beautiful letter opener. It's sleek, simple and makes short work of slicing though business envelopes and even some heavier ones. Particularly attractive is the dancheong design inlaid into the handle; intricate geometric or floral designs in a riot of colors, reminiscent of the beautiful designs found on Korean temples and palaces. Dancheong is an unmistakeable Korean art form and one that I remember from my childhood when I lived in Seoul. When I walked the grounds of Kyong Bok Palace or the East Nine Tombs, or rode past the Great South Gate as a young girl, I would gaze at the wonderful colors woven together to create such beautiful designs that are found nowhere else. I have never forgotten the beautiful painted buildings. When I spied this letter opener, I knew I would be able to gaze upon the colors and designs once more. It measures 6 3/4" long, the tapered handle is 3/4" wide at the top and 1/4" thick, the blade has a beveled edge which measures 3/16" wide and 2/16" thick.Though I purchased this for myself, it came in a small box suitable for gift-giving.In other reviews I've noticed people stating they have trouble opening thin envelopes due to the thickness of the blade portion of the opener. I have not had any issue with this, even on envelopes sealed almost to the very edge.Please note: this is not pointed for cutting tape on box tops, nor are the blade edges sharp, so this will not open plastic mailers, thread seamed envelopes or very thick manila envelopes. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Very pretty *by D***. on January 24, 2024* Was a gift for my mom.
