I am not sure if there is a DSP chip. Bluetooth pairs flawlessly. No tape tested. I don't have any. I am only using it for streaming audiobooks. It offers 5 ways to listen to music. The sound quality isn't the best but if you've ever used the old ones like it the sound quality is comparable and with batteries in it I've gotten atleast 72 hours of playtime before they start to die.
