Despite the negative reviews on here, I wanted to prove my doubts wrong and really love this read. Not to discredit the author - because she is obviously successful- but I have to agree with some of the 2 and 1 star reviews left on here, in that I felt that the book was just a bunch of wordy cliche “words”. And each chapter keeps eluding to this big reveal of the secret to “being a million dollar stylist” but it doesn’t really ever clearly say how to achieve this. There’s really no timeline or organization throughout each chapter and it was a lot of common sense and lulls. I will say that it sounds like this girl obviously has a passion for the hair industry and has clearly made her way and worked hard for it no doubt. I was just really bummed with the book content and was hoping to gain a lot of takeaway and new insight from this book but it was an extremely quick read and I don’t really remember reading anything significant. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ This book can be life change even if you don't do hair *by P***T on Reviewed in the United States on March 1, 2015* I don't even do hair and I find this book absolutely inspiring. It was recommended to me by a friend who knows I love to write. And if you're a good writer people will want to read whatever you put out and Marquetta has done just that.Million Dollar Stylist ery easy to read and communicates an important piece of business that we forget: you are empowered to do great things if you're willing to work at it. Seriously. I couldn't imagine what she describes in this book as being a reality for so many stylists: they are good at what they do but are stuck at a booth making next to nothing. If you want to do better than that, Marquetta has the answers because she brought herself from practically poor and broke to a HUGE success not by reinventing the wheel but by creating a doable system. You're not going to learn new weave technique in this book. You aren't going to learn how to make a better cut. But you will DEFINITELY learn a new way of doing business that anyone can do if they are willing to master their skills in several areas. Mostly a mindset book but really no real technique on what to do, but maybe an intro to trying to del you her program, and even that is not too specific, the websites are listed in the back cover but doesn’t even really tries to take you to go there.
