The tank bag is too bulky for my use (I'm a big guy riding a Yamaha FZ-07, which isn't a big bike), I have difficulty dismounting the bike with the tail bag on, and while I can stand on my pegs to get off, I've had my kickstand shift on me a few times from doing that, and I don't want to drop my bike if I can help it. The saddle bags work great in terms of placement, but the storage capacity is just a bit lacking and not being able to lock the bags concerned me. I bought a chinese branded small tail pack to go with it, and while that bag too is of great quality, I ran into another problem.The cold weather is here, so I'm sporting thermally insulated gear so I can keep riding. Unfortunately, my riding pants are heavily webbed at the crotch, so even throwing a leg over the bike can be a bit of a challenge since the pants' legs won't spread very far (please, no innuendos or puns). This development made me have to ditch the tail pack.In frustration, I did some extensive research and picked these. They resolved all my issues. They hang on the bike's sides, so nothing is on the bike's fuel tank or tail to hinder my mounting/dismounting the bike, even with my thermally insulated motorcycling pants on. These bags have more storage capacity, and the zippers have intersecting lock eyelets!Yes, I know the cheesy suitcase locks I use can be easily picked. Yes, I know that someone can simply take a knife to the bags' straps and walk away with the bags in entirety. But, having locks on my bags will keep just anybody from casually walking up to my bike and rummaging through the bags' contents. If a crooked person wants something bad enough, they'll get it regardless, but being able to lock the bags is still a good deterrent for folks who might be too nosy and try and see if they can walk away with free stuff from a parked motorcycle's bags.Getting off the soapbox... Again as I said, these bags have a higher carry capacity than the Nelson-Rigg sportbike bags, but they aren't so large that they look awkward on my sporty Yamaha FZ-07. The high vis interior is nice, and there's a decent amount of variety for storage. There's a mesh zippered pocket in the lid of each bag, along with front and rear exterior pockets (the front ones house the included waterproof liners) and a velcro'd hold down bar inside the main compartment. Oh, and the leather looking pieces on top of the bags have zippered compartments too. Between all of that, it's easy to organize your stuff. I keep my more valuable and necessary tools in the main compartments since that has lock eyelets on their zippers. I keep extra small items I don't mind losing to a snoop, like a cheap flashlight, in the exterior pockets. Finally, I put small items that I'll be using on rides, like earplugs and sunglasses, in the top zippered compartments. If I want to park the bike and enter a building, I can easily throw everything in the main compartment and lock it up. There's enough space that, as long as I pack tightly and frugally, I think I could fit a change of clothes, shoes, and travel-size toiletries into these bags should I go on a long motorcycling trip.Installing these bags was easy, even taking the slender pointy tail of my bike into consideration. I was able to tighten the bags up enough that while they still slant downward, they won't come into contact with the rear wheel.Bottom line, I wish I had just got these in the first place, it would have saved me time and money. Holds a ton of stuff and they are solid. Had a bit of a time with how best to strap them on my '16 Yamaha MT 09, but they look good and are very useful.Update: 10/30/2019: The main straps that go across the seats started to tear away. I never found a great way to relieve the weight of the bags from the main straps on these bags. Even with the "support" straps for extra support, the main strap stitching was coming undone. Overall, I still like these bags, but I have to figure out a better way so the straps don't rip right off. ### ⭐ 1.0 out of 5 stars Saggy saddlebags *by M***O on Reviewed in the United States on September 16, 2018* Took these on my first overnight trip just this weekend and was dismayed to see that after a 2.5 hour ride, the bags sagged so much that the bottoms actually were rubbing on the tire/bike, causing holes to be burned through the bottoms of both saddlebags. Thank goodness this didn't cause a safety incident. Straps were secured as tightly as possible. Only had boots in one bag and one change of light summer clothing in the other, so weight should not have been an issue. Very disappointed in these bags--they simply do not hold up (literally) with the design they have, as the material of the bags sagged way too much to be safe and secure.
