We handpick fruit into macro bins from gnarled head-trained vines, some dating to the 19th century. To capture the freshest flavors, we night harvest so that the grapes arrive at a cool temperature to be gently de-stemmed. Our wines are separately fermented in small lots, enabling Winemaker Joe Shebl to create wines with a signature style that emphasizes vibrant, opulent fruit and approachability while underscoring the powerful characteristic of old-vine Amador Zinfandel. We are committed to leading edge grape growing and winemaking methodologies that we share with our neighbors to benefit the entire region.
