Review: Easy to get the high gloss without much effort - Excellent quality Venetian Plaster. Easy to mix with a drill mixer. Color was consistent through out. There were just a couple of dried pieces of plaster in a white color. Easy enough to remove and causing no damage to the overall finish. Unlike other Venetian plasters Ive used in the past, this product is very easy to get to the very high gloss finish many of my clients want.

- What is Venetian Plaster: Also known as “stucco Veneziano”, Venetian plaster is a wall and ceiling finish made from magnesium-grade dolomite limestone. It is heated to produce calcium oxide, then aged in water. Finally, the lime is blended with marble and other mineral aggregates. Applied in multiple layers, which are then burnished to create a smooth surface with the illusion of depth and texture. When applied correctly, this type of plaster will create a highly polished and marble-like finish.

**Q: Does this dry down to a satin finish or glossy?**
A: Grassello is know for its ability to be burnished to a high shine or mirror like finish. For a smooth finish with less shine you will want Marmorino Berlina - Firmolux

**Q: How many coats on a new drywall.. 2 or 3.. ? I’m going with e dark color**
A: Primer, 3 layers of Grassello and burnish.

**Q: Is it possible to get or see samples of finished colors/ finishes?**
A: These colors are not our own, they are Benjamin Moore or Sherwin Williams colors. So, you can consult with their fan decks to choose a color that you like.

**Q: Can you do this in painted walls? What prep is needed?**
A: Yes, you can apply the plaster over painted walls as long as they are very smooth and you use MicroPrimer first

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Great product. BUT...

This product is great, ships quickly (and free!), and does what it's designed to do and does that well. BUT, it's not a product for very beginner DIYers. When you work with this product, there are a lot of good practices associated with getting the right results - especially if you want that gorgeous mirror finish. This product takes at minimum patience and practice, practice, practice. That said, I used this to tackle my hallway, which is a mix of drywall and plaster. I had the company color match it to Sherwin Williams Tricorn Black; the bucket it comes in is shipped very securely, so no worries about it exploding or leaking. It sat unused until I was secure that I got as much application information from the company, plus hitting up YT for this specific product (there are a lot of videos on plaster application, some with conflicting information, which is why you'll need practice to find your groove). I had used similar products before but burnishing was new to me, and timing on that is critical. I even made notes that I reviewed often. Don't forget to also buy the primer, it's a must. The company also recommends a wax sealant to keep stains at bay. If you have tall ceilings, I would recommend using scaffolding over a ladder during application. Don't skimp on the trowels and add a mud mixer to your shopping cart, the product needs to be fluffed up and mixed prior to each round.
