The front door area is completely covered so I'm not worried about the elements getting to it. We plan on upgrading our door eventually but we're not sure what kind of door we will be getting yet so I didn't want to put more money into a "fancy" front door handle when I didn't know if it would be compatible with our next door. I just couldn't handle the round brass handle anymore (before and after photo attached). We had already changed out all the locks right when we moved in so this handle was a nice match to our new schlage keyless entry deadbolt. The doorknob was very easy to install, I did it myself in a couple minutes. It comes with clear instructions too if you're new to switching our handles. The hardware updates along with a fresh coat of paint on the front door have really made a huge difference and we'll be much happier living with this door for awhile longer now that it's been refreshed. This handle sits nice and level and feels good in your hand when you open the heavier metal door. We've had no issues with it at all and the finish is even better than I expected. We got it in matte black which I thought would show fingerprints/smudges but it's actually stayed looking very nice and clean and I don't notice marks of any sort on it any sooner than I would on a "normal" color door handle. All in all it looks great, feels great, and works great and we'd highly recommend this lever! We plan on getting more for our home as we gradually update and replace the interior doors as well (they all currently have the same round brass doorknob as well).
