I weighed this one and it is a tad over 4 lbs. I wear it for exercise walking and don't really notice it. I do not like the lumpiness if worn under a shirt or jacket and the fact that it looks like a harness. It also has a slight petrol odor but not enough to bother me. The other vest I tried looked like clothing, had thin weights, and allowed for adding or subtracting weights. However it rode up in front and it was sweat inducing.
