Round Tip to Round Tip across hanger bottom is 17.58. Can’t tell if this answers your question. **Q: What’s the weight capacity? I want to use it for a heavy motorcycle jacket.** A: I do not know the weight capacity. I do believe the hanger will hold the jacket. The hook is more likely to break during handling vs hanging, so just be careful to take your jacket in & out of the closet by handling the hanger at a solid part of the wooden piece. This hanger is a good choice for your jacket. You’ll like the way it maintains a nice shoulder. Just be gentle with your handling of the hanger and move your jacket in & out of the closet with care not to put tension on the hanger’s hook. **Q: I have a heavy gown with a wide neckline. It will easily slip off "regular" wooden hangers, so I need something better. Would these work?** A: These hangers are 17.5" long and 2.5" wide at the tip of each end as shown in the picture, so I cannot imagine anything slipping off of them.
