思い出のジッポーライターを無くしたくないと思っていたところ、ネットで見つけたイムコライターに一目惚れし、5年前に購入。　その間、百円ライターと併用したり、キャンプやハクキンカイロ、花火や墓参りの線香の着火に使ったりしてますが、複雑そうな構造のわりに特に壊れることも無く使えてます。　また、質実剛健なジッポーと違ってヨーロッパらしい複雑でロマンの塊の様な構造が素敵ですね。　砲弾の様なオイルタンクに、機関銃のレシーバーの様に開くカバー。フリントの交換に至っては、ライフル銃に弾薬を装填する様な形になるので、フリント交換の度にワクワクします（笑）　またオイルタンクを外してマッチの様に使えるので、固形燃料や爆竹やロケット花火への点火が非常に楽でした。　ただ、フリントにジッポー用を用いた所、いつの間にかホイールの歯が一部潰れてました。　やっぱりイムコには硬すぎるみたいです。イムコ用や、柔らかめのロンソン用がベストみたいです。

燃料の揮発が激しい。ホワイトガソリンをまんぱんにして山に持って行っても翌日の朝は終わっちゃいそうな、って感じ。車移動のように予備燃料を持って行けるような条件なら良いですがそれ以外のアウトドアでは実用性0だと思います。すごく格好いいし、愛着わくんですが、使う気にはなりません。

以前の物を3回ほど購入したことがあります。それとの比較ですが、ステンレス製になり剛性感が上がったようです。強く握ったときに歪むような感触がなくなりました。購入した3個の寿命は、それぞれ3日・8ヶ月・1年半とかなりばらつきがありました。すべて、着火する時にヤスリを回転させるためにキャップの裏からヤスリの下入っている金属が折れてしまいました。今回のものはどうか判りませんが、プレスで抜いた際のゆがみがなくなり、エッジもつぶれがなくその部分は明らかに改善されたようです。以前のものより火花は少なくなりました。ジャリという感触から、ジュッって感じですか。しかし着火は悪くありません。耐久性はどうかわかりませんが、価格を考えればお勧めです。その後１年使った感想です。剛性感・耐久性ともに以前のものとは比べ物にならないくらい増したと思います。１年たっても新品のようです。
