It would be best to buy the desktop kit with both and then yes it will work. For me, I wanted the comfort keyboard (I didn't like the ergonomic keybord) So I got the Sculpt Comfort Keyboard and the Sculpt Ergonomic mouse and I have to use 2 adapters. If you buy the Sculpt Ergonomic desktop you will only need 1. **Q: how loud are the button clicks?** A: The buttons don't seem to 'click' any more or less than other mouses I have laying around. They do seem to have a deeper pitch, though.
