It is a great product, especially in a small bathroom. **Q: if my walls are 58" instead of 58.5" will it still be possible to install this?** A: Mine are 58-3/8 and I did not have to use any extension. Iffy.... But I suspect you could get it in, even if you had to compress it a tiny amount. I'm VERY pleased with this device... I think if I were you I would try.... but there is a small chance it just might not go in. **Q: Are the standard wall mounts supposed to come with the rod? If not where do I buy them as they are not in the box?** A: I purchased the rod and wall mounts together. Love this concept, opens up the tub area when showering but than rotates back to keep a small bathroom looking more spacious. Also, I had the curved rod prior to getting the new rotating rod and was able to use the same holes in the wall when mounting the new rod. **Q: The material is metal. Other bars and rings I've seen rust. Has anyone had any problems with rust? Surprised no one has mentioned it.** A: I believe most of the components are stainless steel, plastic, and chrome so the likelihood of something rusting is very low. Shipping was a breeze and the item was packed with all the necessary parts and pieces. If you are looking to mount onto tile, that is a separate mounting kit that you will need to purchase.Everything was great except the install instructions were not as clear as I would have liked. I ended up installing it basically twice since the instructions led me to install the rod in a way that it couldn't even support its own weight....once the curtain was added, it just hung down straight like a smiley face. Unfortunately... that did not make me smile and I had to uninstall it and look through the instructions. I basically followed the instructions again, but hung it "upside down" so that the bar locks into a horizontal position... I think it was meant to be installed that way to begin with, but the folded up piece of 8.5 x 11 sheet of paper did not have clear diagrams (IMO).After the install, the rod works great and I've gained a ton of space in the shower. I'm a big fan of not having to touch the shower curtain if at all possible.... so this helps with my shower curtain phobia. I haven't used the rod to hang dry wet things so that they drip into the tub, but I'm glad I have the option to.One tip: Maybe get a friend to help you install this since there were a couple of times where gravity won and I ended up having to piece everything together. Because the bathroom is small, we were careful only to implement solutions that would maximize the efficiency of the space. Most of the curved shower rods will nicely increase the space inside the shower, but comes at the expense of the space in your bathroom. We were so excited to find the answer to both problems! The Rotator Rod transitions smoothly and we have been very pleased with it. We are tall people and have never used the plastic tool meant for flipping the bar back and forth, but I imagine that it might be helpful for shorter people or children. Additionally, our experience with their customer service was fantastic. My wife had originally opted for the black accent balls because she thought the white would get scratched up and look bad after a while. However, as soon as I installed the shower rod, she said the black accent was an eyesore in our white bathroom. I contacted customer service and they sent me the white accent balls at no charge! My wife was pleased, and after a year, they still look new. It's held up great. Looks like the day we purchased it. Installation is easy, though a little trickier than a standard bar. This is perfect for a smaller bathroom. I'm a larger guy and I don't like a clingy shower curtain. This allows me to have plenty of room in the bathroom, (more room) and then it folds out and gives more shower room. My wife actually prefers to shower with it in, I guess it keeps her warmer or something, maybe she likes the cling. But I like it out, it's easy to switch back and forth so in or out it's a matter of seconds. The plastic rod that does the flipping did break though. So I think it should be made of something stronger. Not a problem for me as i'm tall and just reach up and flip it. My wife is 5ft though and has trouble reaching it.
