## Description

Premium 300-Watt bi-amplified nearfield studio reference monitor with proprietary 6.5" Dual concentric point source technology.

Review: Unadulterated Imaging - So I originally was going to go with the KRK ROKIT RP103 G4, but ultimately decided against it due to needing a true near field monitor given my space constraints. The Tannoy Gold 7 is a 6.5" primary driver. Let's get the out of the way first. It's not a 7" driver! There are 5" and 8" versions if you look for them. The Gold 7 seems to really capture the fidelity of what can be done with a 2 way coaxial driver though. An 8" would be stretched too thin, and a 5" not thick enough. The 7 is where it's at. Specs say low 60hz range. The bass is tight and controlled to ~50hz with the 7. A subwoofer is not required for what you'll be using these for. These monitors are second to none when it comes to stereo imaging. Using them for mixdown recording as an A/B to your studio headphones is where we really see these shine. I did have one with a damaged voice coil due to shipping, but I blame desertcart/Shipping for that, not the manufacturer. i would not hesitate to get these. I run them with a Motu M2 interface. REALLY hard to get anywhere near this quality and depth of image without spending MULTIPLE the cost of these. They really hit above their weight class. Just don't over drive them on the input. They will happily play as loud as you should be comfortable with for a near field monitor given the correct gain staging. 5 out of 5.
Review: Amazing speaker. I’m hearing details in a song that I’ve never heard before. - Unambiguous clarity. I am no audiophiles but this speaker shocked me. Listening to music becomes a new discovery process. Totally worth the money. I recommend you to get a pair. desertcart delivered them separately but one doesn’t even come close to a pair. I think a pair of these is close to the sound quality of those B&Os or Dynaudio in their low to mid-4-digit price range. Plus these Tannoy looks very good too people been asking me what are these lol. I have a 5.1 Bose soundtouch 300 set in my living room too and this Tannoy makes me want to return my Bose. It’s true that no high no low must be Bose lol but I initially spent close to $2500 on that Bose soundbar set so you know this pair of speaker is just amazing.

**Q: The power cable for these speakers for an American or European outlet?**
A: The ones I got from Amazon USA came with an IEC cord. IEC C13 connector on the speaker side and a NEMA 5-15 plug for wall outlet (Standard in the USA). The power supply input is rated for 100-240V 50/60 Hz input so it is a "world" type power supply and should work in almost any country. You might need an IEC cord that matches whatever European outlet you have. IEC C13 to BS 1363 in the U.K. for example.

**Q: The price US$302 is for single speaker?**
A: Yes, one single tannoy studio monitor.

**Q: Possibe to attach a chromecast audio to stream music?**
A: Yeah you can definitely do that, you’ll need and rca to balanced or rca to 1/4 inch to connect the output of the chrome cast to the input of each monitor.

### ⭐⭐ Would give Zero Stars if Allowed... LOUD POP Sound like an electric spark!
*by E***N on August 6, 2025*

this speaker sounds great until i get a loud crackle sound every once in a while. I think it is out side the 1 year warranty now so it will cost alot to get repaired. i tried to give it one star but amazon did not let me.
