Review: Part of my dream garage - First, this is not a real toy. It's a metal model intended for collectors. Don't expect this to last if kids play with it. I have a small and growing collection that includes a 1984 Ferrari 288 GTO by BBurago and a 1947 Indian Motorcycle by Maisto...as well as a couple other cars (300 SLR for example). Diecast cars have come a long way in my opinion. Now, onto the Corvette. Mine arrived in a sturdy package, no damage whatsoever. It arrived in a beautiful black and the second I got it out of the package I felt the weight. Strong & sturdy. The front wheels turn, making the steering wheel turn a few degrees (not 2 1/ turns - this is a model folks) and the tire tread on the rubber wheels was fantastic. Engine detail is all there in multi-colored glory; there is even a small (plastic - be gentile!) rod inside the engine compartment that can be raised to *simulate* holding the hood up. The hood stays up on it's own, but I love the little detail. The inside of this car is largely like the real thing. As small as it is you don't get the same level of detail as a 1:12 or 1:8, but it's very, very nice. There are even springs for the suspension that work. Once again, this isn't a toy. The undercarriage is a most welcome surprise. My SLR has a mostly flat plastic bottom, but this has the pipes going from the front to the rear. It's not *perfect* but models have come a long way in a few years. The badges on the car read "Corvette" and there is no indication (on the box or the car) that this is a Sting Ray. Inside the engine compartment sits what *appears* to be a L84 327ci 375hp engine. No air filter. Great "knock off" wheels, no side pipes. Good stuff. If you are a Corvette fan - and I am a big one - this will be a handsome addition to your collection.
Review: Little Blue Corvette by Maisto - This is probably the best 1/18th scale diecast car model that Maisto has put out. It is accurately shaped, and the Nassau Blue paint is fantastic, The engine is nicely detailed, and the chrome rims are the best I've seen on a budget-priced diecast car. There are the usual opening doors, hood, and trunk; steerable wheels; and chromed bits. The most impressive feature, though, are the 3D gauges. A picture is worth a thousand words, so I've added a photo of them. If you like classic Corvettes and diecast cars, this is one you have to get. Like most diecast cars, this one is a collectible to display, not a toy to play with.

To start with; the car is beautiful. Perfectly detailed. I rated 4 of 5 stars due to that the car was delivered with the silver color. I was “really” hoping for the color blue as shown in the order form. I tried to contact the seller for a potential color change. However I was unsuccessful as the web site would only direct me to pre set phrases. Again-the car is beautiful. The color is not as I had hoped.
