## Description

Tire Pressure Gauge, dial type, 0-60 psi

Review: I finally believe the pressure readings in my tires - I've taken up an interest in my tires since moving to Chicago... the dramatic seasonal changes (temperature, snowfall) have convinced me to keep an eye on my tire pressure and tread depth. For years I have used the cheap pen-style pressure gauge where the measuring stick pops out the bottom. I was never comfortable with the results, mostly because I couldn't repeat them. Even tire pumps with built in gauges seemed to be rather unreliable in terms of providing accurate tire pressure measurements. I'm glad I made the investment in the 89560. This seemed like a lot of money for a tire pressure gauge, but the product lives up to the expectation. Here are some thoughts: - The nozzle end that connects to the tire stem swivels freely in either direction, making it easier to maneuver the thick tube into an upright position. - The bleeder valve is great. I over-inflate the tires a little and then bleed the excess air out. The gauge keeps the correct reading after pressing the bleeder so there is no need to reset anything or remove the nozzle. - The 0-60 PSI rating is the perfect scale for my cars' tires. My Toyota Sienna is 35 PSI, my Honda Civic is 30 PSI, and my spare is 60 PSI. This scale allows me to see the reading in much finer detail versus the 0-100 PSI gauge. - I was able to get consistent readings on every tire, even after disconnecting the nozzle over and over. The nozzle has a good seal on the stem and virtually no air escapes. - Although the gauge head is large and easy to read, it feels a little fragile. I would highly recommend the purchase of the 89590 gauge cover. I set the gauge on the ground many times while measuring all of my tires and am certain that the face and sides would have been scratched up after just a couple of uses. - I would also recommend the Slime COMP06 tire inflator to quickly top off the pressure in each tire from the comfort of your own garage. - The picture that desertcart uses for the product is not entirely accurate. It is showing the 0-100 PSI gauge with a blue collar on the nozzle. The 0-60 PSI guage has smaller increments on the face of the dial, and the nozzle collar is black. - Finally, I received the product packaged on a large blister card which did not include any specific operation instructions.
Review: Well made. And I have faith that it is accurate. - The hose and metal components appear to be very strong and of high quality. As others have mentioned, the hose is black (not like the photo) which does not matter one bit to me. The dial is pretty big with large, easy to read numbers. I have used this gauge on at least 12 different tires and it works great. The nozzle fits the tire valves perfectly. No leaks while checking pressure. There is one thing about this gauge that made me consider giving it 4 stars instead of 5. The cover on the dial appears to be made of low-quality plastic, the type of plastic that scratches and cracks easily. I have a feeling that if I were to drop it on a concrete floor, the dial cover might crack or shatter. In spite of this, just from holding and using the gauge you get the feeling that it is well made. When it comes to things like tire gauges, I don't mind spending a little more for quality. Why buy a cheap gauge that is probably not accurate? I have faith that this one is accurate. Is this gauge worth 40 dollars? Well, it is easy to read. It's easy to handle. The bleeder valve works well. And this gauge has given me the peace of mind that my tires are properly inflated. So for me, it is worth every penny.

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ great tool.
*by D***D on November 18, 2012*

great product. did not check dial calibration against a standard, but seemed accurate. tire stem nozzle seems to be machined from single block of aluminum, making it quite easy to make a good seal. hose is a little stiff, but will last forever, so no points down on this. hose markings indicated hose rated for 300 psi. rotational fittings on the analog dial and on the nozzle adapter are convenient. other reviews have stated both black and clear plastic dial housing seem cheap. in my opinion the black and clear plastic housing seem well made with close tolerances for a cost effective made in ~2012 part, but the native housing is certainly not shop or garage rugged. the rubber cover (moroso 89590) should be considered mandatory for those who want the part to last. I found the dial and hose were easy to disassociate with two crescent wrenches, but as others have said, it was somewhat snugly fit, probably 40 ft-lbs. no threads were stripped in the disassociation, and teflon tape was quite easy to instal after 10 minutes of solvent swabbing and poking with a knife in the male and female threads. the grease used for thread sealant between hose and dial is really a problem. if one touches the grease, it will stick to one's fingers. when the part left the mfr it apparently had a grease thumb print on the dial. with some solvent and 10 more minutes of gentle rubbing, 98% of this thumb print came off, but there was some permanent residue on the dial. fitting the rubber cover on the dial requires some effort, but i was able to do it with out tearing the cover as some have warned of. i certainly think the cover is well made, and would not provide the same protection if altered -- glove like fit. use of the pressure relief valve is sublime, very easy to control. all in all, a great tool -- after fitting the cover, cleaning the threads, cleaning the dial, and applying teflon tape.
