Review: Works great to get rid of reverb - These are great but keep in mind they are not pro grade. I used these for my vocal booth to deaden the sound and they worked perfectly. If you are actually trying to treat a studio room for mixing professionally you may be disappointed. I would recommend these for things like rehearsal rooms and spaces where you don’t want reverb. If you just want something simple to soften reverb these work.
Review: All the 1-star reviews are RIGHT, BUT.. so are the 5-star reviews.. and here’s why - So, I’ve been on the search for the BEST, “bang for your buck” foam sound-proofing panels.. and I FINALLY found them! .. However! These unfortunately do come with a “russian roulette” type of odds when it comes time to open them up. Before I ordered, I noticed all the negative reviews.. and I was quite worrisome. Since I needed these ASAP for an upcoming piano recital, which I’m recording from home. But, I just went for it.. and bought multiple packs. They arrived very quickly, each and every time I’ve ordered them. Once you open the box, you’ll see multiple packs of them. They’re all tightly bound together, in an outer plastic layer. As you rip through the first layer of plastic it will release the multiple packs (at this point you still don’t know if you got a good one.) It’s as you start to rip open one of the individual packs, you see the air either does absolutely NOTHING.. and the foam stays flat OR it fills the bag up as you are ripping the plastic; due to the expansion of the panels. This is how you can tell immediately if your whole batch is faulty or as advertised (no need to rip open the other individual packs, they’re gonna be the same as the first one you opened.) They’re either 👍🏻 or 🚮 There’s no in-between. You don’t have to wait hours, it happens immediately (at most in a few minutes.) Soaking them in water does eliminate any odors from the foam, but it doesn’t make the foam change in size (so in my opinion, a total waste of time.) The odors are honestly super minimal, nothing that should be of concern. If you want to transform your studio.. help cut down in reverb, quiet the noise between a neighbors wall, or whatever it may be.. these are the most quality you’ll find for this price point. Therefore, I highly recommend these to everyone! You will not be disappointed.. UNLESS.. you get faulty ones, but don’t fret! Just immediately go to desertcart, click return and order some new ones. They usually come next day, open them up. If they’re faulty again.. rinse and repeat. I just would hold off on returning any of them until you have exactly the amount you need in hand. Don’t expect them to ALWAYS come as pictured, as I said.. it’s about a 50/50 shot, generally. So, if you’re willing to take the risk (of wasting a little time potentially).. it’s surely worth the reward of a beautiful studio, on a budget!! Hope you have great luck and success, with whatever you choose to do with these! :)

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Great for the money -- Buy them earlier than you need them and buy extras
*by R***. on June 7, 2021*

I used these wedges to add some style and dimension to my new String Swing guitar rack and they worked pretty well. After finishing I tossed some random guitars up there to take a picture for you to see what the tiles look like in context. Two important things to note: * First, as others have mentioned, and as the packaging states, they arrive sealed and smashed together in a plastic bag, and they take ~48 hours to expand to the full size. I've attached a picture where you can see the difference, and even that's not as extreme as it really is as the picture was taken like an hour after opening the bag. So if your plan is to hang these on a weekend, then you really need to get them much earlier in the week so they have time to expand. * Buy more than you think you need. I ended up buying these three times because the first 6 I ordered were a test to see if I liked them, which I did, and then second batch of 6 had 1 tile that looked worse than the others and never fully expanded. I needed 12 tiles for my project, so I ended up buying three 6 packs, so 18 total. Of those 18 there was only the 1 that looked genuinely bad, but there were very slight imperfections in a couple of others that were easy to hide when hanging them. If you're picky about these things, I would definitely buy an extra pack for safety and then just select the best of the lot. I was originally going to use a spray adhesive to attach them to the wall, but I got paranoid about leaving torn pieces of foam stuck to the wall if the project didn't workout. I ended up using the spray adhesive to stick a piece of regular paper from my printer to the back, and then using double sided tape to attach it to the wall (see picture). I had used double sided tape for a different project before and it worked great, but I wasn't sure the double sided tape would bond to the foam long term, hence the paper intermediary. In case you're worried, they are in fact 12"x12" exactly. The rack is 48" across and 4 of them was the exact width. If you're concerned at all, it's fairly easy to squish them up against each other a bit tighter and gain some leeway. If I was to do anything differently, I think I would have painted the wall behind the tiles a black or dark grey because hanging them up perfectly trying to cover every single hint of white AND still keep the lines in a straight grid was challenging. A little paint just in the middle where the lines converge would have gone a long ways. Even still, I hadn't taken into consideration the triangle portions at the top giving a view underneath the guitar rack, leaving me with some clear white spots if you look for them (see picture). I might also do a tad bit more prep work defining the "sides" of my grid with tape or pencil or something to making lining it all up easier. So while I listed some caveats above, at the end of the day, when you take the price into consideration, I would pretty highly recommend these. Whether they offer any level of actual soundproofing I have no idea, but visually they look great. I like the look of them so much in fact, that I think I'm actually going to expand the guitar rack and buy more of them.
