The lid has a lock on it so you can’t accidentally pop it open in your bag but easily triggers when unlocked and the button is pressed. I prefer a cup with a lid that only has a strip pop up instead of the cap on the lid but it doesn’t leak and travels well. I have been happy with how long it keeps my coffee hot and have not tried cold drinks in it yet. It is easy to clean with no little parts to get messed up. So far I really like this cup. Can’t beat it for the price you pay.

**Q: Will the lid fit on the summit bottle?**
A: I don't think it will. Most of my simple modern bottles have interchangeable lids but this one seems like a smaller lid. It's a good cup though.

A: No- it seems to be a thick paint or resin and I suppose it could be over metal. When you look inside, it's aluminum. It actually is a really good product. She bangs it around in her schoolbox all day and it never leaks. Also keeps ice water icy. She says hot coffee placed at 6:30 AM is still hot at noon. Worth the money.

Long story short: great bottle, easy to clean, keeps coffee warm all day. I am a serial "make a cup of coffee and forget about it" person so this is so nice that I can just drink my coffee throughout the day and not reheat it. Also I commute by walking and one day I decided to pack a cup of coffee in a travel mug but I didn't want hold it since it was freezing out. I put it in my bag and it spilled everywhere I couldn't believe a traveler mug was that bad at traveling. So I went on a pursuit to find a spill proof coffee bottle. I also look at aesthetics when I buy anything and it took 2 days of research to find the right product. So a lot was considered. I actually own a SM water bottle that I love and when I discovered this product I could get something to match my water bottle! It's really cute and does what it says it does. I've thrown it in my bag with success! I'm very happy with my purchase.
