I like to clean his ear regularly to minimize the wax and dirt/debris to avoid an infection. He had an aural hematoma caused by excessive head shaking or scratching. The vet drained the blood but opted not to do the matress stitch style surgery, which would have preserved the natural look of his ear. So his ear shrunk up once healed causing lots of nooks and crannies and a potential breeding ground for bacteria and future infections. These wipes help to keep his ear clean.
