Smoker stays pretty uniform temp once it real a stable temp so the ribs closest to the coals shouldn't burn!! The 22.5" WSM rib hanger measures 21.625" in diameter and 5.5" tall. **Q: What is the actual outer diameter of the 18.5" rqck?** A: I do not know however if you have the 22” WSM it sits perfectly on top of the barrel **Q: Which hanger size 18.5" or 22.5" fits WSM with the top lid closed?** A: You have to order the hanger rack to fit the 18.5 and the hanger rack to fit the 22.5 WSM they are both different size racks and they both will close with the top lid down.
