Actually smells like it was treated with diesel fuel. Not what you want on your bed. Good for a moving blanket or an emergency blanket to keep in your car’s trunk but that’s about it. **Q: The discription says 60" x 80" and the product deminsions says 20.5" x 15.5" x 1.1"...which is the blanket's actual dimensions?** A: The product is 60" X 80", you may be looking at the shipping size, whatch out on this product as they do not ship all the items you buy; I ordered 4 only got 3 and everyone told me to pound sand when I complained. **Q: Is this 55% wool blanket recommeded by mfg to be machine washable and dryable?** A: You can wash and dry the blanket. But always wash it in cold water on gentle cycle as the warm water and strong agitation are what causes wool to shrink. Also, use shampoo to wash it in as wool is not a plant fiber and it is also not fur. It is Hair and you wash hair in shampoo. Secondly use hair conditioner in the rinse cycle instead of fabric softener. Hair conditioner smooths the scales along the hairs and helps make it stronger. I do this will all of my good sweaters and wool wraps and blankets. It works wonders! As for drying, hang it out in the nice sunshine if at all possible. If not put it in the dryer on low heat and use wool dryer balls to help it fluff up. Remember to clean your dryer lent trap as soon as you take it out as it does shed fibers, A LOT of fibers!
