    Radio Documentaries For Long Drives

I've listened to This American Life going on 8 years now either on NPR or on-line on the website. Great program, this is the 3rd compliation CD I have purchased and I must say that this was interesting especially the Stories of Fear. I am interested in how the human psyche handles fear given certain levels of stress introduced through everyday normal situations. Quite frankly it can be more than a little funny. The story that really clicked with me was On Hold No One Can Hear You Scream, one persons ordeal dealing with an unresponsive phone company. This is a great cd. Better than the last compliation cd for This American Life.

Not as good as "Crime Busters and Crossed Wires" but still very good.  These stories of hope and fear can sometimes be funny even as they are being sad.  I listened to it while on a long trip and it made the miles and hours melt away.

I bought this for my husband, because I thought the subject matter would really suit him. He listened to it and said that a lot of the stories did not really seem to fit the topic or were just not that interesting. This is disappointing, because to me, This American Life has sooooo many driveway moment stories that I figured this was a sure bet. I look forward to TAL putting out more CDs, though.
