A: The delay is only 5 seconds. If the door re-lock instantaneously, you would have no time to open the door.

**Q: How exactly is this powered? batteries? what type of batteries? what happens when they run low? how long does a charge last?**
A: It is powered by batteries. The lock needs 4 AA batteries. When the power runs low (battery voltage < 4.6V), after a user opens the lock, a red light will blink and an alarm will ring, to remind you to change the batteries. A new set of batteries can last for 8~12 months, dependent on how frequently you use the lock. If power completely runs out before you notice, you could still temporarily use a power bank to charge the system.

**Q: Does the smart lock have any wireless connectivity? as is broadcasting a bluetooth signal or any open ports? fingerprint sensor has no cover?**
A: This lock does not have wireless connectivity. Actually, wireless connectivity decrease the safety of a lock, that is why we prefer not to have it. If you have a temporary visitor, you could set a temporary pass code for the visitor and then disable it later. The fingerprint sensor has no cover, making it more visible and convenient to users.

**Q: The description map on the front of the box shows "Knock to Open", was this the designer being funny or is this another feature?**
A: Others lock devices offer a “knock to open” option that allows you to “knock” or tap your cell phone (if it’s connected to your lock)  & it would unlock your door. The seller’s answer to the question is a little surprising, as someone who is researching all options to purchase.
