My high school son uses it for a lacrosse backstop, and I hit golf balls into it with no problems. The reason it gets 4 stars is that it is really unclear what size of net you actually need. We bought the 20x12 net (and dyed it black - easy, RIT dye, follow instructions). There were varying reviews telling how people hung their nets, and I couldn't really find a consensus to actually how much area the net would cover, so I bought one larger than I need, and figured I would just follow the instruction that came with the net and see what happened. The instructions are vague IMO, so I will add my two cents on how to hang it. The net said 12' tall, and in fact, as I hung it (from 12' tall posts), it was 12' tall when not stretched out. When I unrolled it from the package, it also was exactly 20' long like I ordered. Once I hung it from a rope woven through the top of the net and stretched tight between the two posts, the net would not widen to 20' without becoming taut and shortening height wise. If you were to hit a ball into it in this state, the ball would rebound or the net would break. After some experimentation, I found that if my posts were 15' apart instead of 20', The net would hang to the advertised 12', and when a ball was thrown or hit into the net, the net will catch the ball and drop it straight down, making it perfect for our purposes.To recap: The height was as expected, but expect it to cover 75% of the ordered length once hung if you want it to catch and drop a ball. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ What a great solution! *by M***L on May 26, 2014* I have been researching a lacrosse back stop for months. Most retail kits you can buy are not great quality for a serious shooter. This net is amazing, every string is knotted looks like an inch apart. It is strong and cheaper than any other option. I used galvanized fence top rail from home depot to make the posts. I cut one piece in to 2.5 ft sections and buried them in concrete. Then Using the galvanized coupler (like a buck) you slide your posts in to the bases. The entire fence comes down in about a minute and is just as easy to put back up. At the sellers suggestion I dyed the net green and painted the posts green, it blends in much better than black net and posts. Inexpensive solution and much better that other products I looked at. My net is about 12 x 34 feet. it comes with a string border which is strong enough to hang because it is knotted about every inch. Definitely get 10-15 extra feet of net so it has room to hang at either end. You don't want to stretch it to an exact measurement.UPDATE month or two later net is still awesome. My son is a D1 prospect currently on college visits and the net has held up fine for him. This solution was the cheapest and best that we have ever found. We use it for soccer too and it works great. ### ⭐ DON'T BUY THIS NET UNLESS YOU NEED ONLY A 8' NET BECAUSE IT DID NOT WORK ON 10' POLES EVEN WHEN STRETCHED. *by J***Y on March 4, 2018* I purchased net for a High School Lacrosse Program as a safety net around our field to prevent the lacrosse balls from going into the High School track practice. We had purchased one net system that was 180' x 12' but we needed one more system to keep the track team safe. The first net system we purchased was very expensive(over $4100). We are a program with not a lot of resources so we decided to buy this 200' x 12' net and fabricate the poles ourselves. The 10' poles took longer to fabricate then expected and unfortunately we went past the 30 day return policy before we could test the net. Which is my bad.When I asked the company for a return based on the net not being the size as stated in its description, this was their response. "You must follow instructions to hang the net. It is 16 ft stretched we call it 12 ft. The sections that are short is because the diamonds are pulled open. Pull the net in and youll see it drop where it belongs. Sorry but we have a 30 day return." I understand the return policy but I want to make it clear to anyone buying this net that when we hung this net on the 10' poles we made some sections would barely hang to the ground when stretched out and some sections no matter how much stretching we did were no whare near the ground. Our poles were only 10' so it was not even close to 12' or 16" stretched.
