When I finally used it up, I was amazed to discover the excellent taste. Then... the grocery store stopped carrying it! NO! Thankfully, Amazon had me covered. If you leave in all the oil from the sausage, it tastes as good as any I've had in Southern Louisiana. (Aidells brand andouille turns out way better than Hillshire, IMHO.) As a side note, the spices are well mixed in with the rice. They claim you can make a partial bag this way, and I can see how it might work. So might be a good option for single people or meals for two. I can’t see how some reviewers find it comparable to Zatarain - that tastes single bite spicy to me, just hot without any distinct flavor. This is a world of flavor.
