## Description

Product Description The Remineralizing Technology of Amorphous Calcium Phosphate Amorphous Calcium Phosphate (ACP) - Building blocks of tooth mineral 1,2,3,4 The most reactive and soluble calcium phosphate compound, ACP forms on the tooth enamel, within the dentinal tubules and provides a calcium and phosphate reservoir. Research shows that available ACP on the enamel can prevent damaging erosion by stimulating remineralization of tooth structure.5,6,7 Introducing calcium and phosphate back into the surface of the tooth with products containing ACP technology is an ideal strategy to reverse the demineralization process. The ACP-forming ingredients also strengthen teeth by acting as an enhanced fluoride delivery system to deliver more fluoride than products without ACP.23 The patient has the benefit of fluoride uptake without greater exposure to higher fluoride concentrations or volumes. ACP combines with fluoride to desensitize dentin. Fluoride, along with ACP, occludes tubules by depositing tooth-like minerals to create a semi-permanent reduction in hydraulic conductance. This is a proven mechanism to reduce dentinal hypersensitivity. Value of Fluoride Sources Fluoride reacts with tooth mineral, forming either fluoridated apatite (firmly-bound) or calcium fluoride (loosely-bound). Firmly-bound fluoride, incorporated onto the surface of the crystals of apatite, can reduce the solubility of tooth mineral and hence inhibit demineralization due to acids generated by plaque bacteria.5 Loosely-bound (labile F) fluoride provides a relatively slow-release form of ionic fluoride to plaque and saliva.6 There has been renewed interest in loosely-bound fluoride as a reaction product of fluoridation to act as a potential “reservoir” source of solution fluoride enhancing remineralization and retarding demineralization processes.6 1. Review: This dentist says YES!!! - I have been a dentist for over a decade and have tried many different toothpastes for sensitivity and/or "remineralization" of teeth. This product works very well. It is the best product made for these purposes, in my experienced opinion. I use it every day myself. I have hundreds of patients that have struggled with sensitive teeth until they tried Enamelon. The gel tastes a little bit better, but I use and recommend the toothpaste version unless a person is interested in an addition step when conducting personal oral hygiene practices. If you use the gel version, you should brush your teeth with some sort of toothpaste immediately prior to applying the gel. If you're only going to use this product once a day, do it at night, right before sleep. I have seen this toothpaste restrengthen (remineralize) many early stage cavities, preventing expensive dental work. I enjoy helping people get their cavities fixed when necessary, but prevention is so much better! Pro tips for avoiding tooth decay (warning - you're going to be really dental smart after reading this...) : 1. Brush twice a day for AT LEAST two minutes using Enamelon, focusing on every tooth individually... all sides of each tooth, including at the gumline. I cannot remember ever spending less than five minutes brushing my teeth... it takes time to do the job well. Use soft or extra soft bristled toothbrushes. Go with Sonicare (one of the top two models) for the best available home cleaning. The "sonic" disrupts and removes plaque much more effectively, in hard to reach areas, than the rotary or reciprocating electric toothbrushes (in my experienced opinion, both first and second hand). 2. Avoid/limit sweets, including both foods and drinks. 3. Avoid/limit acidic foods and drinks (including juices). Rinsing your mouth with water after indulging in these types of foods is helpful. 4. Avoid frequent eating/snacking. Too frequent eating is a bad deal for teeth, as it promotes a prolonged acidic pH in the mouth which causes mineral loss from enamel. Avoiding eating and drinking (other than water) between meals provides time for the mouth to recover to a neutral or even basic pH which allows the teeth to absorb minerals and strengthen the enamel. Enamelon helps enhance this process. 5. Flossing IS important... but do you want to know what's even better? Waterpik water flossing. It is much more effective than traditional flossing. It is much more comfortable than traditional flossing. It replaces all of your floss and floss-like gadgets you might have tried, including specialty tools for cleaning around implants or bridges. You'll make a beautiful water mess the first time or two you use it. It takes a few uses to get the hang of it. Follow the instructions and you'll catch on quickly. Healthy smiles feel good and can last a lifetime. I hope this help you!
Review: it works. - really tried many of the primium toothpasted out ther, but this one take the 👑 very high price, but this may be the best toothpaste i have ever used. in my experience, this paste can actually restore badly damaged teeth enamel . at the beginning it gave a mild sensitivity to my teeth, and also strengthened them and smoothed the teeth coating. taward the middle of the first tube all sensitivity was gone, and they r more resilient to temp chnages, smooth and strong in a very noticeable way. on top of all this, this stoped a lifetime of bleading gums, made the gum much much more meaty and healthy. more advantages: it doesnt foam too much. it doesnt have harsh disgusting mint taste. it efficiently cancels tastes and smell in the mouth, not masking them.

## Questions & Answers

**Q: Has Enamelon been approved by the American Dental Association? Where is Enamelon made?**
A: Enamelon is made in the US. It does not have an approval by the ADA as this requires a substantial fee; however, it is approved by the FDA.I hope this helps.

**Q: Does it stain your teeth?**
A: Not at all. I have been using Enamelon since Sept, 2014, and teeth are quite white.

**Q: Other than price, what's the difference in the product's Part #, ie., Part # 9007270 vs Part # 9007280?**
A: They appear almost the same (the red one has 0.4% SnF instead of 0.45). Some "treatment gels" are much higher fluoride, and perhaps should be used only on advice of a dentist. This appears *not* to be the case here. It may come down to a preference of paste vs. gel, which is often just appearance (both use silicas as thickeners/abrasiv but with different refractive indices (?); that and whether titanium dioxide is added, make product ~clear or opaque.

**Q: Is this the same enamelon that was on the market a few years back?**
A: This is not the same toothpaste that was sold in stores years ago, they just use the name and the idea of providing extra calcium for the fluoride to combine with. That toothpaste, from about 15 years ago I'm estimating, went out of business after a year and a half or so, but was the best toothpaste I ever used. I liked the texture, I liked the taste, and it seemed to really be cleaning and strengthening my teeth. I called the company to ask why they were going out of business and they said people didn't like the flavor, although I thought it was the best flavor. It was not mint flavor but I believe this new one is a mint flavor, although I haven't tried it. I don't like strong minty flavors; they irritate my gums. The original EnamelOn tube was made with 2 separate inner chambers, one filled with a gel or paste that contained the fluoride and the other filled with a gel or paste that contained the calcium, the idea being that the two combined in your mouth and not in the tube. Since that product was discontinued, I've been using Close-Up--the flavor is cinnamon, not mint. It was the first gel ever put on the market, although it's no longer carried by my supermarket or the drugstores--I have to buy it at dollar stores or through Amazon, although the dollar store version I found was a different version, a so-called "Whitening" gel, which had a duller flavor, not the "Refreshing" gel I was used to, which is what I get from Amazon now.

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Best toothpaste that I have used for sensitivity.
*by B***N on August 24, 2024*

My review is essentially in the title. This is a thick paste. That may take some getting used to, but it seems to provide a protective layer around my teeth. It has done wonders for my extreme sensitivity. Also, I am one that likes a toothpaste that has fluoride. My dentist rarely makes specific suggestions about a specific brand, but has told me to make sure that I use a fluoride toothpaste. There have been times when I have run out of this and tried a regular store brand. I can tell a difference immediately. They are very harsh. This is perfect.
