Mitutoyo are a brand I know as I've encountered their large-scale industrial measurement instruments at work so I trusted them to make good quality kit. Having said that, I also trusted the Sealey brand too. This Mitutoyo calliper is almost 3 times the price of the Sealey digital one and it doesn't have the added cost of the digital readout so I'd expect it to be a lot better, but the truth is the two products are a world apart. This is a simple, well-made, robust, precision tool that allows you to accurately measure to within 0.02mm. None of this could be said for the digital calliper that I tried first. You could say this is simply a case of 'you get what you pay for'.
