So I put these up side ways so they cannot do that. So far so good. No swinging squirrels. I also put some under my platform feeder so the little demons could not climb the pole then get to that feeder either. They are not strong enough to impale a squirrel🥲 but they are enough to deter them for now. You insert the spikes (which don’t appear to be SS) into the base (which appears to be SS). That process takes a few minutes on each strip but it isn’t hard at all, it’s pretty straightforward.The hard part is mounting these into tight spaces but that’s no fault of the product (I guess I could trim the spikes). However, there are holes on the base strips so you can drill them into something with screws. That really helps a lot.We’ll see if these hold up to weather with time.
