It was a perfect match for the factory harness under the driver-side rear bumper area. Unplugged the old one, plugged this one in and tested all the wiring to make sure it was correct and it all looks good.The old bracket didn't fit this, even after I tried drilling new holes. The old bracket simply wasn't wide enough. So I ordered a new bracket, and this one is a perfect fit - the holes in it align great with this harness: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B000BGM4IEThat bracket comes with bolts/nuts and some self-tapping screws. I used the bolts and nuts to mount this harness, but I used some larger nuts and bolts I had lying around to mount the bracket to the truck, just to make sure it stayed put. I've had bad experiences with self-tapping screws rusting and falling out, and that'd be bad to have that happen on a mounting bracket for your trailer plug.Since this tow harness didn't come with any kind of nuts/bolts for attaching to a bracket, I'm glad the bracket came with them. I had a few I could have used but I wasn't sure they were stainless and probably wouldn't have worked. So just make sure whatever you use to mount this to your vehicle is some quality hardware, outdoor rated. ### ⭐⭐ Poor Design Leads To Unforseen Consequences *by B***R on Reviewed in the United States on October 22, 2013* After I installed this, I had no running lights when I connected my camper. Those of you who have been through fixing something like this can understand how inconvenient and time consuming this can be. I finally tracked the cause down to a pushed out connector on the Tow Ready adapter that inserts into the included 7-pin plug. When working correctly, this connector mates with the blade on the 7-pin plug by pinching it to maintain connectivity. To keep this connector from falling out, a single plastic (yes plastic) protuberance is used to lock it into its hole. When a blade on the 7-pin plug doesn't mate correctly, this protuberance can be broken and the connector is forced down and then out. I had to use a pair of needle nose pliers to hold the connector in place while pushing the bladed end into it. I considered this to be a temporary fix until I could get a replacement from Amazon.Imagine my disappointment when the replacement arrived in a previously opened blister pack. Now suspicious, I examined the package contents and discovered another damaged pinch connector! I have decided to leave the original cable connected and to send back its replacement as the defective item before I get charged for it. Had I bought this locally, it would have been impossible to slip me such a shoddy replacement. This was a crafty move by someone who understands how to manipulate the system. Now it will be easy to blame me for damaging both kits or to continue sending me damaged goods. So, I give up...its just not worth it for me to waste any more time on this. Buyer beware! ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Perfect fit on F250 stock plug. *by K***T on Reviewed in the United States on February 19, 2020* Works perfectly for my 1999 f250 7.3L diesel. Just remember look for the grey plug under dash to connect plug harness into. Ford put the same colored wires under steering column with NO plug, just bare wires that do nothing with brake controller.
