My new favorite cookbook!
My new favorite cookbook! This book moves from my coffee table to the kitchen. There are beautiful photos throughout, and the book itself is a great read. As you would imagine, Richard's warm and clever personality comes through on every page, through fun photos and witty descriptive stories. I smiled at every anecdote about his kitchen, his cooking, and his kids. This is the first cookbook that I actually sat down and read through, cover to cover, before venturing into the kitchen. When it is on my coffee table all of my friends immediately pick it up and begin flipping through it.On the other hand, the kitchen is where I really need it: I've already begun experimenting with Richard's creative tips. His recipes do two things that I love: First they allow me to take some comfortable trusty old favorites, but then spruce them up with some creative new ideas! They also give me a chance to try something totally new that I have never even thought about. Either way every time I cook with it I impress my family and friends.Try this at Home is fun to read and to cook with. It is a must for every cook and foodie out there. Richard's book is my new go to gift! I have already ordered several for friends.

Limited ideas
Watching Richard on reruns of top chef over the years I have become a huge fan of his. I like the way he thinks different about how things are put together on the plate. When I got the book I started reading through the intro which Richard uses to talk about how he started out in cooking school and went on to compete on top chef. He also describes his love for southern cooking and how it changed his idea on what simple ingredients can add to a dish. I was surprised in some ways by the lack of real recipes as most of what was offered seemed to be condiments or side dishes. I was hoping for more actual dishes however what is offered can help those who like to experiment in the kitchen. Want to make ice cream in a matter of seconds? Richard talks about using dry ice or liquid nitrogen. Not sure I am ready for that but for those who want to learn how to enhance the flavor of tomato sauce or mayo then this is the book for you.

Great Book for Anyone
I've been a fan of Chef Blais ever since his first appearance on Top Chef. I became an even bigger fan when I had the opportunity to work with him in 2010. So, when I heard he was coming out with a book I was excited...not just for him but for all the people that would be able to see his genius on paper, right in front of them. He does a great job of breaking things down so the average person can understand and follow what to do in the kitchen. You do need some experience in the kitchen to do what he does in the book but I think most people would find the recipes easy enough. Great book people...get it!

LOVE THIS BOOK!
I just got this book in the mail, I pre-ordered it because of my love for Richard Blais, and I have to say this is one of the best cookbooks I own. These recipes make you look at your kitchen in an entirely different way. He gives you recipes that you already know or have always wanted to try and elevates them with "2.0 versions" that are super exciting. From the everything bagel vinaigrette to a whole section on pickling (yay!) to mustard caviar and parmesan cheesecake I am so excited to try everything in this book. Once again Richard Blais has blown my mind! You must buy this book!

Yum Yum
I'm not a big cookbook fan. I usually just wing it or research online. That said, this book is worth every penny. If you are a Top Chef fan, it is worth it just for the fun Blais Family stories that go with each recipe. Now, if you are wanting to kick up your cooking and try some new things (Oatmeal Rissotto is a must!) this is perfect for you. Everything we have tried has been amazing and I can't wait to try even more of the cookbook. The everything bagel salad dressing has become a much requested item in the house!

Richard Blais!
Blais is without question the most talented, creative chef to have competed on Top Chef. His book is full of surprising recipes and great ideas on how to turn simple, fresh ingredients into incredible meals. Not a beginner's cookbook - this is not "A Man, A Can, A Plan" - but if you have any kind of ambition in the kitchen, there are plenty of starting points that won't break your culinary spirit if you don't get them quite right the first time. Great photos to accompany the complicated recipes.

A "plateful" of creativity!
Excellent book, with overall good recipes and, in other way you might think, not with only liquid nitrogen. It has a great number of dishes, many ones different not only itself but with a whole new way of thinking how to prep food. If you wanna try something different every now and then, like myself, then I can only say: Try This At Home! Also, congrats for the seller and the shipping company, got the book in 6 days on a international shipping from US to Brazil, Amazon deserves all my appreciation.

and he somehow makes you feel like all of it is easily possible
I have long been a fan of Richard Blais's cooking style; his ability to create casual food that is several notches higher than the usual fare is unparalleled. Some of is creations border on the fantastical and are so interesting that you can't wait to try making it yourself. When he uses unusual ingredients in his molecular gastronomy he also lets you know where you can get them, and he somehow makes you feel like all of it is easily possible. His recipes are user-friendly. His approach is whimsical and learned. I love this book, and hope he writes another one. This will be on my shelf and in my kitchen for ever.
