The cold hard truth is that the Epikgo, Halo Rover, Jetson V8 and several others are all literally the exact same machine but with different labels. They're all made in China. Don't get me wrong, Chinese products aren't all bad, but the fact that these boards are advertised as "made in california" really put a bad taste in my mouth when I discovered they are actually made in China.The Swagtron T6 IS ALSO made in China, but was designed, tested, and developed right here in America, Indiana to be exact. The company has amazing product support and all speak clear and concise English. No overseas tech support droning the same basic nonsense in your ear when you call with an issue. But, enough about that, let's get on to the details if the board itself.The T6 has aluminum fenders AND a powder coated matte black aluminum chassis! The underside is ABS plastic but very solid. The tries are actually great quality and tubless. It rides better than any hoverboard I've ever ridden and does an amazing job off-road thanks to the air filled tires. The self balance feature is really cool when used with the app via Bluetooth. One word of advice, once you connect via Bluetooth, DO NOT change the name of your machine. For some reason the app can't find it of the name is changed. I hope that saves someone the trouble I went through.Now, the bad part. My first board failed after only a day or so of riding mostly on my paved driveway and inside my house. Thankfully it didn't fail while riding. The battery system is very sophisticated, but I believe that is it's downfall. There are so many safety features implemented due to misuse in the past by inexperienced people that they've made this one dummy proof. The battery apparently has a shock safety feature because if the board bumps anything the battery pack disables itself to avoid shorting. This is great except that it turns the board in to a giant paperweight. Thankfully Amazon is amazing and replaced mine and I gladly accepted a replacement because there simply isn't a better built board on the market for the price! I can't believe I ever enjoyed a hoverboard with airless tires. Even though the battery pack failed, I still give this board 5 stars due to the amazing customer support, very well built machine, and the fact that Swagtron at least took safety in to consideration when developing their battery system. I'd rather it shut down than short out and catch fire. eBay has plenty of replacement batteries for less than $50, so if mine fails again I'd be happy to replace the battery pack knowing that I don't have to worry about my board exploding.In closing, I'm thoroughly impressed by the design and build quality. I doubt you'll find a better built self balancing scooter for anywhere near $450.If it means anything, I am an ASE certified automotive technician, computer tech and network engineer and currently pursuing a bachelor's degree of science with a major in electromechanical engineering. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ 5.0 out of 5 stars One of the most fun things to ride ever! *by T***R on Reviewed in the United States on February 13, 2018* So I purchased this for something new to do. I'm 65 and not particularly skillful in balance but I found it easy to learn how to ride. I had no real prior experience on similar things like snowboarding or skateboarding or surfing or wake boarding. It took a while, perhaps upwards of an hour of practice over several sessions to feel like I could reliably go forwards and backwards and turn. Braking was most difficult to learn. Then after about two or three hours total on the board doing figure 8s, circling and going forwards and backward I felt confident on the board. All of that practice was on the smooth concrete of my garage floor.Then I was ready for the dirt road that leads to the house. I felt like I was starting over, going on an uneven surface was much harder and the going was slow, but then after about an hour of practice over 2 or 3 sessions I got confidence there too, and did 4 or 5 miles on the dirt and gravel and got more confident. Then went to a skate park early in the morning so I could practice by myself and that also improved my confidence and I learned how to go up and down gentle slopes.Then it was time to tackle the yard, it's very uneven and has a gentle slope to it. Surprisingly, once I just let myself go a bit faster it was easy to do.At the time I am writing this I have perhaps a total of 10-15 hours total on the board. Just wanted you to know where I am coming from for the following review.This board is great. I have no experience with a smaller one that has solid or smaller tires but the ones on this one are very good over dirt and imperfections on concrete. Once I got to the point of being able to stand naturally on the board and trust it I found I could simple zip over expansion joints in concrete, over hoses in the yard and actually ride on gravel. Just like with a bike, going a bit faster is better than going a bit slower when the riding gets difficult.I've been riding with it just as it came right out of the box. The air pressures seems high in the tires but have not yet tried to ride with a reduced pressure, the traction I get both on concrete and dirt seems fine right now.As for the board itself I've noticed the following.With the app I have tried changing the modes but can't say I have noticed much difference between the learning mode and the advanced mode. The Bluetooth seems fine but I would have like the max volume to be higher, but then I do have a bit of hearing loss so that might be the reason.I did a bit of testing on the battery. It does seem to fully recharge from near depletion in about an hour, certainly in less than an hour and a half. I haven't tried to see if I can go 12 miles on a charge yet but I do know that I can go about 40 minutes all through my yard before it starts beeping at me that the battery is near depletion. I do want to complain that the beeping is really not very loud and I only noticed that because I happened to look at the battery charge lights first to note that I was nearly out of charge and then noticed the beeping. 40 minutes is not very long but I was going constantly and the yard is very rough so I expected less than an hour.I also haven't tested the claim it can go up a 30 degree slope but I have been up and down fairly steep asphalt roads and it made it no problem. I did note that the max speed is reduced going up and that was expected.I haven't gone the full 12 mph claimed, but have made it to 9 mph. That's because that's the fastest I currently feel safe going.The other thing I didn't try was the so called β€œstartup balancing mode” so can't say anything about that.I have ridden a little bit in the dark and I would say that the built in LEDs don't really provide enough light for safe riding. They certainly let other people know where you are and whether you are braking or not, but they aren't like headlights, so if night riding is your thing, bring a flashlightMy overall impression I that it is well built, that the balance algorithms work well and that it is relatively easy to learn to ride and that it will work over a wide range of surfaces.And that it is really, really fun. So, I can recommend buying one.One last word. I have yet to fall on this, but I have had to step off several times when riding really uneven ground. That doesn't keep me from wearing protective clothing which for me is a helmet and wrist guards, and when I get to where I ready to go on even more difficult terrain or go faster on the pavement I will start wearing the body armor I use in mountain biking, maybe even upgrade to that full face helmet. DO NOT BUY! *by C***R on Reviewed in the United States on September 3, 2021* These worked fairly well when we could inflate the tire. Probably put about 4 or 5hrs of riding on them and then put them down for the winter. This spring my son became interested in them again. One of them died after about 1.5hrs of use: will not power on and will not charge. Totally dead.The second one just died after another 15-20 hrs of use. This time the unit will go through the motions of charging, the light on the charger turns green, and it will turn on when plugged in. However it will not balance and will power off and becomee unresponsive when unplugged.I bought two of these. One came with a flat tire. I didn't return it because it was a birthday gift and it wouldn't get back in time. Managed to get it inflated with a gas station push-on air hose, the kind with the pressure gauge in the handle and the blunt tip that just fits over the valve.It turns out that this is THE ONLY WAY TO INFLATE THE TIRE. The valve location on the inside of the wheel and "protected" by an aluminum plate makes it impossible to use any type of inflation tip with a clip. Bike pump - NOPE. RYOBI compressor - NOPE.
